Higher Yield and Polyphenol Content in Olive Pomace Extracts Using 2-Methyloxolane as Bio-Based Solvent

In accordance with circular economy principals, the OP (Olive Pomace ) is a by-product that is rich in bioactive compounds and that can be valorised  through the recovery of residual oil and antioxidant compounds, mainly polyphenols, that are largely lost and at the end of the olive oil production process. 

This study evaluates the possibility of replacing hexane, in the extraction of olive pomace (OP), with 2-MeOx.
